			<title>Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT)</title>
			<description> Print this page     EBT is the delivery of government benefit funds via electronic means. Programs and their monthly disbursements such as Food Stamps, WIC (Women, Infants and Children), Social Security, and TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families) are now issued on an EBT card which can be used like a prepaid debit card and processed over the same equipment. Merchants that offer consumers the ability to pay with EBT can expand their customer base, increase customer satisfaction, and increase revenue. There are no longer coupons or paper certificates to bundle and return to the state. Accepting these payments has never been easier.  A merchant must be authorized by their state through the USDA to process EBT transactions. After being approved for processing, you will receive a Food and Nutrition Service Program Number (FNS).
